Winds of up to 65 miles per hour are heading to Lincolnshire this bank holiday weekend, the Met Office has warned.

A swathe of strong winds and heavy rain will move eastwards across the county on Saturday, March 26, with a yellow weather warning in place between 6am and 9pm.

People are being warned to expect some localised travel disruption.

The Met Office Chief Forecaster’s assessment reads: “An active frontal zone is expected advance steadily east across the country through Saturday, accompanied by strong, gusty winds and periods of heavy rain.

“Whilst the strongest gusts are likely to be confined to coastal districts at first, and in the immediate vicinity of the front, gales are likely to become more widespread inland later in the morning and through the afternoon.”
